I have always liked homemade mac and cheese and thought I should give it a try. I find that baked pasta is always much tastier than just throwing sauce on top of it. It was quite easy to make with only about 20 minutes of hands on time.
When melted add 4 tablespoons of flour and simmer for 3 - 4 minutes.
Next, slowly add 2 cups of milk to the sauce. Simmer 3 - 4 minutes.
Add 1 cup of Velveeta to the mix. Melt completely.
The finished sauce. Sorry for the soft focus, the camera was having a hard time not focusing on the steam.
Add a layer of cooked noodles to the container and layer with a coating of the Velveeta sauce and a sprinkling of cheddar cheese. Do this twice for both layers.
The 2 layered dish.
Next for the topping. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
Add a cup of bread crumbs and mix thoroughly.
Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of pasta layers and bake for 30 minutes at 375 F.
1 box of pasta
1 cup of Velveeta (1/2 a box)
7 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of bread crumbs
1 cup of cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons of flour
2 cups of milk
2 cups of milk
